RAF announces 2017 Photo Contest winners

For this year’s contest, we split the nation into five regions and asked you to send in your favorite images of your airplane in a recreational setting. We received photos from all over the country! Your response demonstrates that the RAF is fulfilling its mission across the nation. 

RAF Selects New Board Member R. Peter Burwell

Peter is President and CEO of Burwell Enterprises, Inc., based in Minneapolis. Burwell’s holdings include the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club, a 367-room hotel adjacent to Wisconsin’s Capitol building; Country Springs Hotel and Water Park in Waukesha, WI; Echo Mountain ski area just outside of Denver in Idaho Springs, CO; and C & B Operations, a chain of twenty-five John Deere dealerships through the Midwest.

Erin White to assume RAF Volunteer Coordinator duties

As Sarah Chandler phases out of her position as Volunteer Coordinator for the RAF, we welcome Erin White.

Erin’s resume is extensive and impressive. She started out her writing career in 1994, working as a reporter in the Silicon Valley. Among her many accomplishments, she’s especially proud of the four years she directed marketing and communications for a non-profit organization that provides life-changing outdoor adventures for people with disabilities.

2017 RAF Trail's End

In the interest of safety, RAF 2017 Trail organizers postponed two June RAF Trail events to avoid inclement weather. If you were disappointed Trigger Gap and McIntosh Reserve were cancelled, here is your chance to enjoy those RAF Trail stops!

Aviation included on National Forest in Montana

The RAF is pleased to report that efforts by its membership contributed to a 17% share of comments received by the Helena/Lewis and Clark National Forest during their public scoping period. These comments will steer the future travel plan on the Helena/Lewis and Clark National Forest, 2,846,606 acres of public land located in the Rocky Mountains of central Montana.
